Greg Nicatero, the special effects head of all The Walking Dead Series also was responsible for Day of the Dead. Groundbreaking effects in 1985 and now. Digital did not exist yet. "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead" are objectively way better movies. This one is my favorite. Hell if I know why. Hell if I care.

Nice to see the first and third entries in Romero's influential trilogy on this site. Shame about the complete lack of the second one, which I think is the best.

The most uneven of Romero's original zombie trilogy - also the most despairing and grisly and oppressive. If you're into that kind of attitude in a horror film, you'll find rewards here, especially in the final third, when all hell breaks loose and the blood flows. Thought the original "Night of the Living Dead" the best, but had a lot of fun with this movie.

My personal favorite George Romero film. I like the post-apocalyptic setting, the strong female lead, and most of all delving into the psychology of the zombies themselves with the unforgettable "Bub". It also features some awesome make-up and special effects. Highly recommended!
